Cleaner, Leafier Hay
Our alfalfa varieties are setting the standard for high forage quality. Compare our Cimarron alfalfa (left) to a popular competitor (right.)
Large Leaves and Branching Stems
Several advances have combined to produce alfalfa hay that is cleaner and leafier. Large leaves and aggressive stem branching in our varieties result in visibly leafier hay.
Note the large leaves and lateral branching on the Cimarron stems to the right.
Note the large leaves on this stem. Larger leaves are characteristic of Cimarron alfalfas.
Better Leaf Retention
The main cause of leaf drop in the standing field and in the windrow is a weakened leaf attachment caused by disease damage. Diseased plants are more likely to shed their leaves before reaching the bale. Enhanced resistance to several other foliar diseases allows our varieties to keep their leaves right through harvest and baling.
